Singer/Songwriter Candace Asher Releases New Music

Culture, Fashion, Music

It’s quite the task to write a song that is both happy and heartfelt. That’s why it’s no surprise that singer/songwriter Candace Asher collaborated with multi-Dove Award winning songwriter Dwight Liles to muster the uplifting country/pop/Christian hit “Don’t Lose Heart”. The synergy between these two talented artists resonates for hours. Asher, a vocalist on a mission to capture the hearts of her listeners, does just that. This nostalgic journey is visionary and right for the times.

Oftentimes during a listening experience, the reflection and recollection of times of trouble (or joy) is at top-of-mind. Listeners can often fall down a rabbit hole of memories, with years and months flipping through like a picture book or photo carousel. “Don’t Lose Heart” has a deep focus on things that have made the person who they are – instances where in times of trouble or fear, it’s best to follow one’s heart. Asher and Liles do an exceptional job at making the listener grip those times and loosen the grip to focus on the future and moving forward. I can’t say that I’ve encountered such a song like this – one where the past is acknowledged, but not revered. It’s a nice change, an uplifting feeling, to have these emotions.

Helping create that emotional moment is the fantastic singer, Asher. She has an evergreen voice – the type of tone and tenor you would hear from Cher, Martina McBride, Reba McEntire or even Dolly Parton. In other words, when she sings, you can immediately note, eureka, that’s Candace Asher! To stand apart and be recognized in such a crowded field of female country singers, I think, is a great accolade to Asher’s talents. She’s not just another ‘face’ in the music sea. She’s a true artist and has a voice that says so much with such a tight, succinct song. She excels when her voice is accompanied by a piano – proof in the way she glides like a gazelle in certain stanzas in “Don’t Lose Heart”. She never lets on that she’s scared or scarred for that matter. Within her voice is a woman with a life of looking on the bright side of things, of finding a way to make anything work. I’ve heard songs sung by women scorned or women wronged, and I wanted to hear something new, a different take on hardship and heartbreak. I got that with “Don’t Lose Heart”. It’s a satisfying thing to hear her sing to you like she actually cares. She’s a real person, a real voice and not just a computerized thing.

Whatever the day brings, it’s encouraging to know that “Don’t Lose Heart” is the comfort one needs to find their own way. It’s a busy, crowded, chaotic time – Asher’s voice is a soothing, relaxing presence. There are no distractions taking away the pureness in “Don’t Lose Heart”. It’s honey-dipped talent at its best. Listeners that like to snuggle up to country, Americana, pop and Christian music will find themselves a star in Asher, as well as “Don’t Lose Heart”.
